Mission

At Rooted Hope Counseling, we believe the plan for each person’s life is a future worth hoping for and confidence in being able to overcome life's various challenges that can get in the way.  Therefore, it is our mission to walk alongside the women, children and families we serve in an authentic and trustworthy fashion to help them fulfill their potential.  We love helping our clients learn how to confidently face any trial from a position of security, in firmly rooted hope

Treatment Approach

At Rooted Hope Counseling, the primary theory of counseling that we draw from is  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is an evidence-based approach that has been referred to as the current gold standard of psychotherapy (David, Cristea, & Hofmann, 2018)

A note to those who are interested in Christian Counseling:  We see the principles of CBT modeled in the Bible with regard to changing our thoughts to reflect truth and our behaviors to be in line with the truth, to help with healing and change (Romans 12:2; Philippians 4:8-9).

Other treatment approaches may additionally be used depending on the needs and preferences of each individual, including, but not limited to, play-based therapy with children and art and other creative therapeutic techniques with clients of all ages.

Feed My Starving Children Partner

For each session, Rooted Hope donates the equivalent of four meals to children in need. To learn more about Feed My Starving Children visit fmsc.org.

Insurance/ Fees

Rooted Hope Counseling is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and BCBS Blue Choice and United Healthcare/United Behavioral Health/Optum.  As such, we see clients of all ages, in-person and/or telehealth.  Additionally, Rooted Hope is independently contracted with a third party which accepts most major insurances (including Aetna, Cigna, UMR, Anthem, Coventry, and Oscar Health).  However, under these circumstances, Rooted Hope's agreement with this third party is only for telehealth services for clients 13 and older.  Rooted Hope Counseling can also accept self-pay and provide documentation so that clients can request reimbursement for any out-of-network benefits that other insurance plans may offer.  Please contact us with any additional questions or for clarification.

Rooted Hope also offers a designated number of reduced fee slots which are available to any client with qualifying financial need.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE REQUIRED NOTICE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

Faith and Counseling

At Rooted Hope Counseling, we love working with people from all faith backgrounds (or those with none).  We also believe in being authentic and feel it is important for our clients to know that our personal Christian faith is at the core of our perspectives and counseling practices.

However, since we respect each person's ownership over their own beliefs, inclusion of explicitly Christian interventions (including prayer) is based upon clients’ expressed wishes, and preferences may be changed at any time.  We also love working with those who are not sure what they believe and are interested in exploring faith issues.

Our goal at Rooted Hope is not to tell anyone what to believe, but rather to walk alongside you as you ask questions and explore where the evidence points.  For any who would like to explore questions of faith, we realize that this is a very personal journey.

We believe that anyone who makes a decision regarding their personal faith/beliefs in counseling should do so because they have been convinced in their own mind and have discovered a solid foundation (sturdy roots) that they can confidently build upon.

For those who are seeking Christian counseling, we would like to share the Scripture at the root of our mission, which we believe summarizes the firmly rooted, confident hope that the Bible says is available despite any and all circumstances.  Jeremiah 17:7-8 says:

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.  They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

We would be honored to walk with you on your journey to discover this rock-solid hope in a fresh way, completely defiant of whatever season of heat or drought in which you may find yourself.
